A series of small devices comprised of an enclosure, a small round lens looking piece of glossy plastic, and an LED will be installed in various interesting locations to arouse suspician in inhabitants of those locations. In order to intensify the presense of the equipment and draw peoples attention to it, a flashing red LED is installed (being the only functional aspect of the device) to give people the impression they're being recorded. An interesting installation area would be (a) one that does not necessarilly necessitate a surveillance device, and (b) is still a space in which if a visitor spotted a surveilance device, they would feel it inappropriate to attempt to remove (ie: assume that it is installed there for a purpose by some authority). Interesting areas include but are not limited to: - lobby areas - the grad lab - corridors - phone booths - newspaper stands - bus stops The devices are only as large as necessary to fit the circuitry required for a 555 timer circuit and a battery with sufficient energy to power the light for a long duration. >>
