Internet Privacy

Weekly Six | May 10, 2018

Xin Xin's lecture on Tuesday was not only informative, but also practical. It was helpful and interesting to learn about the different networks, ways in which internet users can try to prevent tracking. I definitely think I will be keeping the extensions that she asked us to download, because I think it will at least make me feel more secure when using my browser. One problem that stood out to be was how to balance between our privacy and connectivity through the web. While the internet was first created to champion the accessibility to worldwide information, now, more and more are becoming concerned with "internet safety" and how to protect one's privacy on the internet. I think it's very interesting how the purpose/impact of the internet has developed over the last two decades.
