Reflections is an installation that combines live performance, live camera recording and video projections. The performer is confined in a relatively small cubic space. The 4 vertical sides of the cube are projection screens. Two live cameras record the movement of the performer from within the cube and feed two projectors. The space is alive with visual elements developing from all four sides of the cube while the performer chooses to interact or not with them. The sound track constantly transmits radio signals that we use as a metaphor of the connection of the performer with the outside world. What the search brings back is an infinite reflection of the performer, who represents the human experience that ultimately needs to prevail to make the technological experience meaningful and profound. Stepahie Adcock collaborated in the piece. She is a Los Angeles based performer and dancer interested in creating work combining new media and performance in contemporary yet meaningful ways. | |
