weekly #5

AR is something that i have always found completely fascinating, as it is completely integrated with the real world as opposed to VR which is obviously completely separate and it's own entity entirely. in terms of the ethics of AR, i do sometimes question the line that it can sometimes draw between creating real-life visualizations for the betterment of the community, and then completely detaching from the world as it is, to a dangerous degree. my project is meant to bring about more nostalgia for me than to necessarily suggest any sort of "betterment" or "convenience" in relation to what i have replaced the establishment with. the site would mainly be creating a space for the viewer to be exposed to my daily life in spain and the places that i frequented in the summer of 2017. the hope is to illustrate the places that i visited most often and then layer the drawings on top of the buildings that they would be standing in front of, so that the geolocation would allow for the drawings to pop up. the benefits would mostly be that i would be connecting one part of my life with another, and that people would be able to experience that alongside me, but the challenges will most likely lie in the logistics of the drawing showing up the way i'd like it to.
