DATA DRIVES PEOPLE'S LIVES

Reflections On My Project

From project two, I asked people to include information about their school year and which campus they are from. However, once we were putting the information into the visualization, we did not think that it was important or provided significant information about the survey. I think this is weird because this information does tell important information about the person and make the data less personal.

Questions

1.
Do you think that actions happen to you more than once to the point that you could collect data on it? - ex… Does someone call you more than once throughout a period of time? Does someone send you flowers more than once throughout a period of time?
2.
Do you think that if being tracked, your locations will relatively be the same over a period of time (repetition and routine) or will your movement be all over the map?
3.
Would tracking of your personal data make your change your initial habits?
4.
Do you agree or disagree with the idea that access to information leads to centralized power and if so, does this power lead to revolutionary/impactful change or bad change that only benefits certain people?
5.
Does excluding data from the overall dataset make it false or inaccurate? Does the data have the same benefit or impact when this data is excluded?
6.
What is the intention behind leaving out data or not collecting certain data?
