this is weekly 3:

ugly:

friend who switched faces with an eraser on snapchat i feel like internet ugly encompasses the awful snapchat filters that exist -- they are relatively low effort and its internal glitches or intentional glitches caused by its human users create an interesting aesthetic quality. there are intentionally bad snapchat filters, and i am unsure whether it encompasses the movement of internet ugly, but it certainly is on the internet and ugly.

beautiful:

different friend who applied a flower crown filter on snapchat i really liked how my friend contorted her face and applied this filter -- i think she looks really good, but also it's a place to discuss how snapchat constantly bleaches people's skintones and makes their eyes more within the bounds of white beauty, not to mention their quite blatant black and yellow face incidents in the past. is this really beautiful? perhaps not, but i just love it when my friends send me selfies that they're happy with that depict themselves...just maybe altered a lil.
