I’ve read about Cuba’s intranet in the past, but not in the contexts of having Trump as president. I think it’s really interesting to contextualize the current situations of having a now less receptive president of the United States interact with Cuba, as that has implications to how the internet might evolve in the space of Cuba. But as the article stated, Cuba’s intranet evolved much faster than anything else that they had made in recent years, and it interesting follows trends that tech had experienced earlier in its infancy in America. I’ve always thought about how ethical concerns about the internet in America could have been addressed earlier, and how that may be a possibility in these growing internets/intranets like those in Cuba.
