This data visualization of family-planning statistics from around the world uses interactivity to make a lot of information easily accessible to the user. There are many options for sorting and viewing the data. This makes it easy to compare and contrast differing countries by their methods of contraception, use of contraception, and the number of children per household. The timeline at the bottom also allows the user to scrub through data throughout the years. The visuals seem to animate as one changes the year parameter. There is also an "about the data" tab that gives more insight into where this data comes from and why it is reliable.
Income vs Gender Data VisualizationThis data visualization shows the income for boys and girls, in low and high income brackets, in every country. I really like how the the comparison for boys and girls are split up into the low and high income catergories and are visually shown side by side. However, I'm not really sure about the color choices for the hover states on each of the countries. The colors seem to be random but I think this would have been a good opportunity to organize income disparity by color.
