Design Justice Network Reflection

The 10 ways designers can support social justice website is really interesting bc it has the potential to extend into any kind of project. I look at it as a guideline for constructing a project or practice rooted in particular values, sustainability and community. For better or worse, I personally value collaborative projects over personal ones, as I think there is a magic and significance in emergence and collaboration that is hard to find in the latter. I've decided to explore those two concepts, thinking of ways to give viewers agency while maintaining a visual and/or meaningful control over the outcome. I plan to code a site where people can participate in creating an everchanging "collage" by drawing a shape onto the canvas, and filling that drawn shape with an image or video from their own camera roll. Getting back to Design Justice Network's 10 ways, I am attempting (5.) to build off work that is already happen, (6.) to design with a community of doodlers and photographers, and (9.) to mediate a creative space for imagining new visual and conceptual relationships.
