Cuban Controlled internet is super limited and slow

It's facinating how the cubans have adapted to the internet revolution and crafted their own sort of network between themselves. I'm not surprised that the gaming community sparked the urge to connect themselves and play games like starcraft together. But it was even more facinating that the same types of social networking platforms were created out of the ability to chat and connect over lare communities.

The drug-like trade of el paquete semanals also really surprised me, that everyweek the community can get little packets with their favorite tv shows, news, and various other internet links. The internet in essence is suppose to be an open form to post and add to, however cuba seems to be getting our breadcrums and taking on the role as observer. Cubans have a difficult way of adding to the internet and having their own individualized precscene that we as amaericans take for granted.

Cuba really put the internet in perspective, and made me realized how blessed our freedom is. I couldn't imagine what they would have accomplished if they had the freedom to advance freely with technology and have an open source of research and internet. I'm curious about what part of this internal network we don't know about. Cuba seems to have eyes everywhere but I'm surprised technology hasn't been used more to learn about democracy and freedom. After seeing what it's like in the outside world, how is their not more resistance to the tyranny. The grass is always greener on the other side, right?
