Weekly EIGHT
  • Online communities and movements
  • Read two of these: Joanne McNeil – The Facebook Bully, Gilad Lotan – Fake News Is Not the Only Problem, Aditya Mukerjee – I Can Text You A Pile of Poo, But I Can’t Write My Name, Zynep Tufekci – Is The Internet Good or Bad? Yes.
  • Post a 2-3 sentence response: Pick an online site that you participate in (something more specific than “Facebook” or “Twitter,” e.g. a particular Facebook community, or a fan forum for a sports team). Do you consider it a “community”? Why or why not?
  • I feel that different types of networking sites often have a large group of people that are among voice and applause each other, example:facebook. Although I have found unique groups that are extremely supportive and imformative and also have rules, boundaries and moderators to keep content appropriate to the groups theme. Specifically legal advice often are very helpful and informative and are full of people that can help offer advice for pending legal troubles as well as general information that is important for daily life.
