YouTube Mobile App will sometimes glitch when the user rotates the phone and interfaces with the application. When changing between portrait and landscape orientations and simultaneously using a collapse gesture (swiping down on the video content), the frame will occasionally get caught in the wrong aspect ratio, granting the user with a unique viewing experience – cropped imagery. In an age when Virtual Reality buzz and immersive media art are saturating the visual narratives of social networking platforms, a reduced visual experience can provide a much needed break from too many degrees of freedom.
