My journey starts on Instagram, where I saw on my explore feed a photograph by beauty/fashion blogger Song of Style. The photo is of her ear with many piercings, which caught my eye because I am also currently urging to poke a new piercing.

This then lead me to Google diagrams of ear piercings.

They started to get disgusting with pictures of infections, so my mind forced itself to move to something else—my mom's online store selling earrings and other jewelry. Scrolling through, I saw some of their prices in Japanese currency and questioned whether she was robbing people. This was just a playful thought, though; I know that she is way too much of a wholesome and soft being to have any interest in robbing fellow Japanese middle aged women online.

The online store is also linked to my mom's personal blog, which constitutes of daily findings, my dog, and the occasional rants about me as a teenager. I used to check up on these often to read her posts, until she stopped at October 2016. I think she just got over the obligation of keeping up these daily updates.

The final link is by far my favorite. It is a Youtube video taken from my friend's mom, who is also friends with my mom. She has a website which links to photos of her and her daughter, or mysterious video links. While looking at this, I discovered a video of a group of Japanese moms rehearsing for a traditional dance in a garage. My favorite part of the video is the singing and shouting by the leader Japanese mom. In the end, they pose and say "We Love Japan!" but only one of them actually says it, while the others uncertainly mumble along. This is the dominant Japanese mom.

tldr; if you don't read this text, just watch the last link. That is all I would wish for you to see.
