Weekly 5

The idea of having people watch you every day is scary enough,
Augmented reality has opened up the idea of location-based projects,
which are interesting and helpful to some degree. However, one
issue that stems from this is property rights on a digital and
real space. Although we may not know the complete limits on what
is infringing upon other’s properties, we can still respect the
space. Regardless of what your AR project means to you, it takes
place in conjunction with the real world. If possible, we should
stay in areas that are open to the public both virtually and in real
life. The story on Wired brought up the discussion of unauthorized
augmentations of museum spaces, which I feel like is an invasion of
privacy and space. Unless designated to be influenced by other artists,
we should respect all forms of art instead of hacking our way to
destroy it. I hope that my site is not an intrusion to others.
To some degree, I feel like we should have control and a choice over
what we see regardless of the platform.
