This video piece represents revisiting memories and the passage of time. Made after playing around with slow-motion videos I took at a friend's house during the 4th of July. Feedback was one of my favorite effects to mess around with in TouchDesigner, and I tested several of the videos I took to create a contrast between rugged and smooth. TouchDesigner was one of my favorite programs to learn in the past few years. The node-based system lent itself to endless hours of playing and exploring.

Many of my TouchDesigner experiments revolve around the play speed being driven by music levels or certain frequencies of songs that I personally enjoy. This video plays at a consistent speed, and with the song and video existing as separate entities layered over each other, this piece relies on the mind wanting to automatically match visual cues with cues in the audio that simply occur together coincidentally, tricking one into believing there is a relationship between the two.
