Creative Lab is my multimedia sandbox that explores various design practices that interest me. Projects include book design and visual development. It also includes unused concepts and ideas that did not make the cut throughout my time as a designer.

UNESCO-UCLA: Global Commons Review

Global Commons Review is a journal published by the UNESCO-UCLA Chair in Global Learning and Global Citizenship Education. For the first issue, I was commissioned to design a cover that reflects the journal’s identity as an advocate for cultural diversity, global peace, and environmental sustainable development.

Journey Duck

Journey Duck is an immersive video projection that explores the collapse of real and digital spaces. Viewers follow a duck as it travels through the eccentric terrains of outer space. The video was featured in an interim installation show at UCLA Broad Center under the instruction of Refik Anadol. For the installation, three walls within the gallery was mapped out into a mockup in After Effects. The mapped points were then assigned to 15 projectors around the gallery to project the video.

Children of Syria

Children of Syria is a visual book that explores the lives of Syrian refugee children. The book aims to raise awareness about the Syrian Civil war and refugee crisis.

UCLA: The Optimists

This is a typographic poster designed for UCLA’s Art in the Union, an annual Art Exhibition hosted by UCLA Associated Students. The poster pays homage to UCLA’s popular video series, “The Optimists”, that features the university’s renowned scholars, world-class scientists and accomplished alumni for how they preserve and thrive against life’s greatest adversities. Royce Hall, an iconic location associated with UCLA, was used as the main visual against a silhouette of a bruin.
