Hi, my name is Faustine Chia and I am currently a third year studying design at UCLA. Being from a very asian family, it only seemed natural to be immersed in asian culture. As a child I visited asian countries and submerged myself in asian movies, television shows, cartoons, food, you name it. It would seem odd if I was not heavily influenced by asian culture because a lot of who I am is being asian. Luckily, this influence carries over to what I believe good design to be. I tend to strive for designs that are: simple, organic, clean, with lots of white space.

Hence, the reason I draw inspiration from japanese design. Japanese design is the epitome of what I search for in design, basically clean design. Therefore, my design motto is "Do not try to be fancy; Do not overdo it." This is something I try really hard to keep in mind and implement for everything I produce.
