I have a crescent-shaped scar on my wrist from middle school when I tried to break into my house after forgetting my key. My friend Jessica and I were pushing on a window from the outside and it broke around our hands. She was unscathed. I walked away with three scars. And we were still locked out. We ran to a neighbor's house who proceeded to curse at the amount of blood. I don't necessarily love this memory, but I do love the scar because it reminds me of adventure and youth. In a way, it's like a tattoo that I never intended on getting.
This is a reminder to myself that I'm a lot tougher than I make myself out to be, that it is possible to push yourself beyond your known limits - it tells me that pain is only temporary and that it can be endured and overcomed if you push yourself beyond self expectations.
That birthmark covered my entire back when I was born. I bet it freaked out my dad.
I have a tiny patch of hair that has 0 pigment. It's called poliosis and I just thinks its super neat.
I cut the tip of my finger off while literally cutting cheese. My grandma was in town and had just sharpened the knifes. 7 year old me decided it was the perfect time to cut a giant block of sharp cheddar. I still have scar tissue there and it hurts like a bitch every time I hit it on something.
I got this scar at a Goat dayger and it reminds me of good times with my great friends
I have a birthmark on the side of my right cheek. I think it's my favorite birth mark since I've had it as a kid and I always thought it was like my trademark. Whenever I wear a swimsuit you can see it on the side. There's actually not too much of a story but I always thought it was just cool to have hehe.
I have this mole on the left hand, everyone always thinks I have a chocolate stain.
Scars of when I used to cut myself covered by my palm tree tattoo. I used to cut myself when I realized I was gay and how much hate there was in the world. Especially being a gay Latino, which can be very hard. I covered it up with a tattoo a few months ago. Palm trees represent rebirth/resurrection. It's also a symbol for my grandma who passed away earlier this year. I was never able to see her in her final moments because of school and how important getting an education is as a first gen student. It's a reminder that her energy is always with me.
This was my first birth mark that I knew of, so it's this mark that taught me what they are. My grandma told me she had the same one in the same spot. She now has Alzheimer's and can't tell those same stories but I remember all the cool things she'd tell me and all the cool things we have in common even though she can't articulate them.
i tripped and fell on a metal dustpan. i filled in my eyebrows today though so it's probably very faint..

i have no idea how i got this.
while dragging out a water polo cage out of the water, i dropped it on top of my toes. you can still see the dents.
tripped in a castle and got a stone wedged into the shin, hitting bone
I got this scar because I was late to the PSAT and decided to hop a fence rather than go around the long way. If I were sensible I would've worn pants but I'm not so I was wearing a skirt and knee-high boots, and when I swung my right leg over I didn't clear the top of the fence, so I got two scratches. I sat there for two and a half hours taking the PSAT, bleeding the whole time. It's been five years so only one of the scratches is still visible here.

Mole in my groin area. Always bothered me when having sex with someone new. Probably need to get it removed because my pants rub it.
Underneath this mole is a scar from when I was 3 years old. I ran from a cat in our garage, tripped, and fell and cut my forehead open. I can still remember screaming as Dr fields stitched it open. It is my earlier childhood memory.
I was with my sister, I was 12 years old. We were playing and running all around till I fell from the stairs and bled all around the dining room. My mom got veeery angry!
Car accident. Arm was ejected from sunroof as car was flipping, and car landed on top of arm.

scar from rescuing a stray cat
This is a picture of my belly button scar from hernia surgery. I had an incarcerated or "stuck" hernia and had to have emergency surgery to prevent tissue necrosis.
This is a scar from a dog bite. It is on my shoulder. I was breaking up a fight between two dogs when one of them grabbed me by the shoulder.
My husband had had a heart attack and bypass surgery. After he had gotten out of the hospital and I had returned to work, I went home at lunch to check on him and do for him anything that you need before returning to work. Often it was quite a rush. One day I was running late as I returned to work. I was running up the sidewalk toward my building, and I fell. My glasses protected my face from being cut, but I got a bad cut on my wrist and badly tore a sweater I had laboriously knitted with very expensive yarn. I have since mended the sweater. My glasses still have scratches from where they protected me, and this car still remains. This scar does not bother me. It makes me think about my husband and how lucky I am that he still alive and that he is healthier than he ever was before.
I first noticed it when I was about seven years old. I ws in the second grade and a boy in my class kept staring at me curiously. He eventually blurted out "What's that rash from on your arm?". Everyone turned to see. I sat clueless; not having an answer to everyone's curiosity. I went home after school that day and asked my mom what it was. She assured me it was a birth mark. I was a stubborn and curious child and I refused to believe her without proof. I knew my way around a computer and Google at the time and I searched how to find out where my arm rash came from. At the time I didn't know what a dermatologist was, but I sounded out that word and told my mom she needs to "take me to them for proof". Two weeks later, we went for the appointment and after a few days the dermatologist confirmed it was indeed a birthmark. To this day, now twenty-four years old, people who notice it still ask me am I okay or is it a rash. I just laught and tell them "I'm fine, it's just a birthmark".
This is a photo of my left arm. These scars are from cutting and burning myself in self abuse.
I really like this mole as i think it helps frame my stomach.
I've had this mole my entire life on my chest. The others are from the sun. They run in my family.
Stopped at a green light at an intersection & the guy Infront of stopped his car, while my car did not touch his car. My air bag deployed and broke my ulna & radius of my right arm. Had to get metal plates, screws and a bone graph.
birthmark on my hand
Those little circles are scars made by a burn. That was uncomfortable for me, because I have always thought that the hands of a woman are one of the most beautiful part of her body. And mine were perfect, till that happened. But it's not like I have a complex, right now I have a nice memory about the burn, and that's it. I suffered the burn when I was cooking for my boyfriend.
It is a scar on my chest.
My raw skin birthmark on my left upper arm, I've only met one other person that has the same type of birthmark.
This is a mole that I've had on my chin since I can remember. I love now that I have facial hair to hide it as people used to make fun of me as if it was an Indian mark on the wrong side, or something to that affect. It doesn't bother me now but it's definitely something that stands out that I've learned to live with rather than hide from.
This Strechmark was happen due to Weight loss in my early age

I have this tiny mole on my right hand, it's very insignificant but my mom has the exact same mole on the same hand. I have this other mole on my left hand and my dad has no other moles except this one on the same hand, so in some way I feel like I have both my parent's hands. Not by genetics or anything but my coincidence
