WEEKLIE 9

The Facebook Bully by Joane McNeil brings up a different issue from cyberbullying or censoring the internet, but it talks about how Facebook tried to deactivate drga queen accounts because of their "real names" policy. The "real name" policy is where you're suppose to create an account with YOUR OWN information like how it is on your driver's license or passport. So drag queens, who create a new alias for themselves, are victim to this policies because that is not their "real name." What is social media to say what is a "real name"? In gender drop down menus, there is an option where people can input "prefer not to say." Those options are for people who do not identify themselves as the gender they were born with. There are far important issues on social media than if someone is "faking a profile" or posting "fake articles" on an open platform.
