By the mid-60s, the ramyun industry was booming as more and more companies joined ramyun business. The underlying factor is the Agricultural Policy supported by the government. The main purpose of the agricultural policy had been green evolution by the development of a high-yield variety of rice and agricultural extention thereof. The policies for promotion of agricultural income and rural development were conducted in light of this focus.

The 'Yukgyejang Sabal-myeon', launched in 1982, is regarded as the product that dramatically expanded cup-ramyun market. It became worldwide with the benefit of the Asian Games'86 and the Olympics'88. NBC introduced as 'food similar to American hamburgers'.

Hot Chicken Flavor Ramen (or buldak-bokkeum-myeon), commonly known as the fire noodles, is a brand of ramyeon produced by Samyang Food in 2012, and is known as one of the spiciest ramyeon available in the Korean market.
