I wanted to craft a website that showcases four songs that profoundly influence my identity. I chose to reinvision all the album covers in my own graphic style. Additionally, I annotated each lyric with handwritten notes, bold and italacize letters to highlight parts of the lyrics that stood out to me and emphasize the significance of the lyrics.
The first song, "Vienna," embodies my journey into adulthood, especially as I've navigated through my years at UCLA. It encapsulates my constant worry of life slipping away, prompting me to prioritize living in the present moment.
The second song, "Ribs," serves as a poignant reminder of my enduring friendships. Bonded since childhood, my friends and I have witnessed each other's growth and transformation. This song evokes a nostalgic sentiment that perfectly mirrors our shared experiences.
"Always on My Mind," the third track, holds a special place in my heart, serving as a tribute to my family, particularly my mother. Our countless road trips were pivotal moments in our family, with Elvis CDs always accompanying our travels. This song, in particular, resonates with me as a cherished memory of those moments.
Finally, "Seabird" symbolizes my contemplation of the future as I prepare to graduate. It signifies the notion that no matter where life takes me, I'll always have a foundation to return to my loving friends and family. It embodies the assurance that, no matter how far I roam, home will always be within reach.
